Settings

The Settings tab controls visibility and generated links in the spreadsheet.

Portfolio settings

Portfolio settings control whether these columns are visible:

• Sector.
• Stock name.
• Stock ticker.

After changing a portfolio setting, the sheet takes you back to the Portfolio tab.

Link settings

Link settings control generated links for company names and share prices.

You can point those links at the services you prefer to use for research.

Search engines

The search engine list has two columns:

• The left column names the website.
• The right column stores the URL pattern.

To create a search URL pattern:

1. Open the website.
2. Search for a ticker such as AAPL.
3. Copy the URL.
4. Remove the ticker from the end.
5. Paste the remaining URL pattern into the settings list.

For Yahoo Finance, the stock page URL is:

https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/AAPL

The search URL pattern is:

https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/
